Fish Poppers

Ingredients

For the Fish:

• 300 grams boneless fish fillets (cod, basa, tilapia, or your choice)
• 1 teaspoon garlic paste
• 1 teaspoon ginger paste
• 1 teaspoon lemon juice
• 1 teaspoon chili powder (optional)
• ½ teaspoon black pepper powder
• ½ teaspoon salt

For the Coating:

• ½ cup all-purpose flour
• 2 eggs, beaten
• 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)
• ½ teaspoon paprika (optional)
• ½ teaspoon mixed herbs or oregano
• Oil for deep frying

For Serving:

• Tartar sauce, mayonnaise, or your favorite dipping sauce

Instructions

1. Prepare the Fish:

1. Cut the fish fillets into bite-sized cubes.
2. In a bowl, marinate the fish with garlic paste, ginger paste, lemon juice, chili powder, black pepper, and salt. Mix well and let it rest for 20–30 minutes.

2. Prepare the Coating:

1. Place the flour in one bowl, the beaten eggs in another, and the breadcrumbs in a third bowl.
2. Mix paprika and herbs into the breadcrumbs for extra flavor.

3. Coat the Fish:

1. Take each marinated fish piece, coat it lightly in flour, dip it into the beaten eggs, and then roll it in the breadcrumbs until fully coated.
2. Repeat with all the fish pieces.

4. Fry the Fish Poppers:

1. Heat oil in a deep pan or fryer over medium heat.
2. Fry the fish pieces in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan.
3. Cook for 2–3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
4. Remove and place on a paper towel to drain excess oil.

5. Serve:
Serve the fish poppers hot with your favorite dipping sauce and enjoy!
